SXfont is a font manager for Mac made by Amir Islamov, an independent developer. This page explains what data the SXfont app and the sxfont.app website handle, and why. The short version: your fonts and your library never leave your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

Your fonts and their names, connected folders, tags, favorites, sample text and settings are stored only on your Mac. SXfont doesn’t send them anywhere. The app has no analytics, tracking or ads.

What the app sends, and why

  • License check. When you activate a license key, and from time to time after that, SXfont sends the key, an identifier of your Mac (its hardware UUID) and the Mac model, for example “Mac14,2”. This makes sure a key is used on the allowed number of Macs.
  • Trial. During the free trial, the app sends only the Mac identifier, so the trial can’t be restarted by reinstalling.
  • Updates. Once a day, SXfont downloads the list of versions from sxfont.app. No information about your Mac is sent with it.
  • Google Fonts. When you browse the Google Fonts catalog in the app, font files are downloaded from the jsDelivr network. No account or key is involved.

As with any internet request, the server that answers sees your IP address. I don’t collect or store IP addresses.

When you buy a license

To issue your license key and help you restore it later, I keep your email address and the name you gave with the purchase, together with the key and the Macs it’s activated on. I never see or store your card details: payments are processed by the payment provider.

If you write to me by email or Telegram, I use your message only to reply.

Where the data is kept

  • The website and app updates are served from a rented server at Vultr.
  • Google Fonts files come from jsDelivr, a public file delivery network.

I don’t sell your data and don’t share it with anyone else.

The website

sxfont.app uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and doesn’t keep visitor logs.

How long the data is kept

License records are kept for as long as the license exists, so you can restore it on a new Mac. Trial records (the Mac identifier and dates) are kept to prevent the trial from being reused.

Your rights

You can ask what data I have about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Write to amirka174@gmail.com, and I’ll reply within 30 days. Deleting a license record also deactivates the key.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change too.
