Fonts turn on by themselves
New
- Auto-activation. You open a file in Photoshop, Sketch, Affinity, Keynote or another app, and the font it needs is off in SXfont. It turns on by itself, with no dialogs or questions. The app gets the font only for itself and only while it’s open; in SXfont the font stays off.
- Illustrator and InDesign too. These apps don’t ask macOS for fonts, so SXfont looks at their open documents itself. The first time, macOS asks whether SXfont may control the app. Click “Allow”.
- Lightning on the card. A font that is on temporarily has a light-green lightning outline. Click it to keep the font on for good.
- App list. Settings → Auto-Activation lists your apps with checkboxes. Uncheck an app and it stops getting fonts from SXfont. The same tab shows which app recently got which font.
- Fonts downloaded from the Google Fonts showcase turn on by themselves too.
Fixed
- “Recent” shows the newest fonts on top with any sort order.
Limitation. On macOS 27, App Store apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) stopped asking the system for fonts. This is a bug in macOS itself. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch and Affinity work.
